Três personagens principais tão diferentes cujos caminhos se cruzam de forma inesperada.

Ao longo do livro tive alguns momentos em que adorei e ao mesmo tempo os personagens me irritaram um bocado, mas é aceitável tendo em conta o que eles são, de onde vieram e o que acreditam.
Gostei como todos foram retratados com algum defeito, por muito que eles achem que podem ser isentos de falhas.

Temos romance como subplot, mas muiiiita tensão.

O mundo em si é muito interessante. Ainda não sabemos muito bem sobre o sistema da magia porque estamos a falar de um mundo em que a mesma foi abolida.
Mas acredito que os próximos livros nos irão explicar melhor.

Gostei dos personagens "secundarios". E eu meto em parênteses porque para mim tiveram também profundidade e daí serem muito importantes para todo o plot.

AMEI A DIVERSIDADE! Temos personagens fisicamente diferentes, temos personagens que fogem ao padrão, temos subversão de papéis na sociedade.

O final deixou-me ansiosa.
Enquanto eu achei que fez todo o sentido para situação e personagens, por outro lado eu quero saber mais e preciso que as minhas dúvidas sejam respondidas 😊

This book is by far one of the best books I've read in the longest of times. The story flows beautifully, the characters are deep and relatable, the themes are intentional, and development is infused in every page. There's multifaceted layers to each character, to the story, to the world building and I wish every book was as well thought out and written as this one is.

The story unfolds with so much depth, so much pain, and so much intensity. This story is so well thought out with such details and such interesting characters. It's light meets dark, and you can tell opposites attract. Fantastic story, impatiently waiting for the next.

If you love adventure stories like Throne of Glass, a bit of romance (think enemies to lovers with a TWIST), and heists, this fantasy novel is for you! I already cannot wait for book two!

"The First of their Kind" is a really solid book. The characters felt very much real and alive. Unlike many other books, the characters weren't 100% good or evil; no mustache-twirling villains or selfless heroes ready to save all the little guys. The world seemed rich in history, religion, and culture. I am looking forward to exploring more of it.
